Lineup and Band Information

The Cincinnati Dancing Pigs of Ohio is a jug band organized more than 40 years ago. They have played at every Jubilee event.
The Downtown County Band of Frankfort, KY is a young string band playing early 20th century music, including jug band tunes. *
Escape the Floodwater is an Iowa City, Iowa, band named after the flood of ’93. They helped their town fight the flood of ‘08. *
Jake Leg Stompers, Murfreesboro, TN first appeared at Jubilee 2007. It plays “chicken-fried pre-war hokum-billy jug music.”
Louisville’s Juggernaut Jug Band, the Jubilee’s host band, began 40-plus years ago. It is America’s only fulltime touring jug band.
Key Strummers is a youthful (ages 8-16) jug band comprised of the students of the Blue Stone Folks School, Noblesville, IN. *
Traveling minstrel Pokey LaFarge, a Louisville old-timey folk music string musician/vocalist, first delighted Jubilee fans in 2007.
Rannygazoo is a ukulele duo featuring the co-founders of Louisville’s own Le Petomane Theatre Ensemble and 40% of the cast of Actors Theatre of Louisville’s upcoming 43 Plays for 43 Presidents.*
Jug band educator/historian Arlo Leach of Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music will lead an interactive jug band workshop. *
At Jubilees 2006 and 2007, “Edu-tainer” Sule Greg Wilson, this year’s emcee, was percussionist with the Carolina Chocolate Drops.
